International Day of Peace Run

When: September 23rd, 2023, 21:30 PM

Where: Home for Cooperation

In celebration of the International Day of Peace, Nicosia invites everyone to participate in a 6-7km run through the historic streets of Old Nicosia. This event, organized by RUNITE, brings together runners from both sides of the island, promoting unity and peace. The run will commence and conclude at the Home for Cooperation, with refreshments available at the finish line. Don’t forget to carry your identification to cross checkpoints.

Emerge as a Changemaker (Workshops)

Nicosia Street Quest 2023 – Event 1

When: September 5th, 2023

Nicosia Street Quest is an exciting navigation game based on orienteering. Your mission is to locate up to 21 predefined points on Nicosia’s map within the city walls, answer simple questions at each location, and return within 60 minutes. Be on time to avoid penalties! You can participate individually or as a family team of up to four people. Children under twelve must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fee is €2 per person, and maps and question sheets will be provided at the start. Prizes await the winners, sponsored by local businesses.

Let’s Go Kaimakli

When: Saturday, September 23rd, 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Every September, the picturesque neighborhood of Kaimakli hosts the Pame Kaimakli/Let’s Go Kaimakli festival. Organized by NGO Urban Gorillas, this year’s festival, on September 23rd, focuses on the power of stories and narratives to connect and engage communities. Local artists will present installations and workshops throughout the historic streets of old Kaimakli, creating opportunities for sharing stories and experiences.

LIMASSOL

Anogyra Pasteli Festival

When: September 6th at 7:00 PM

Where: Anogyra, Limassol

Anogyra, known for its pasteli, invites you to its 31st Pasteli Festival on September 6th at the Community Primary School at 7:00 PM. Witness the creation process of this sweet treat, enjoy music, dance performances, and savor pasteli and cookies with carob syrup.

Golden Hour Hiking Tour at Troodos

When: September 10th at 4:00 PM

Escape the heat and join a family-friendly hiking tour atop Troodos mountain. This easy-level hike during the golden hour offers stunning views from the island’s peak. The tour covers 7 kilometers in about 3.5 hours and includes a guided hike, two bottles of mineral water, and a digital photo album of the experience. The cost is €10 per person.

SARDAM – Interdisciplinary Literature Festival

When: Saturday, September 23rd, & Sunday, September 24th, 8:00 PM

Where: Synergio Theatre, 91A Eleftherias Street, Limassol

SARDAM Festival returns with its 11th edition, featuring writers, performers, and artists from Cyprus and abroad. Experience the fusion of literature and spoken word with various forms of expression, including theater, technology, music, dance, poetry, visual arts, and more. This year’s festival introduces an international Video Poetry festival and a special focus on Cyprus and Greece participants. Don’t miss the creative writing workshop by Amanda Michalopoulou and the writing poetry through dance/movement workshop by Safiya Kamaria Kinshasa.

61st Limassol Wine Festival

9-day festival with music, wines, dances, exhibitions, and more, goes on until September 25. 

Where: Limassol Municipal Gardens, Limassol, 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

Save the best for last! The 61st Limassol Wine Festival, spanning from September 17th to 25th, will transform the Limassol Municipal Gardens into a vibrant festival ground. Enjoy local wines, music, dance, exhibitions, and more in this nine-day celebration. Cost: €5 for adults, €3 for children. 

Full Moon Sea Kayaking on Governor’s Coast

When: September 28th, 2023, at 6:00 PM

Duration: 3 hours

Embark on a unique sea kayaking adventure under the moonlight along the Governor’s Coast. Meet at Governor’s Beach at 7:00 PM, where all necessary equipment will be provided. Paddle through clear waters, explore unique coastlines, and bask in the magic of the full moon on the beach. The total route length is 4 kilometers, and the difficulty level is low. The price is €35 per person and includes a guided tour, equipment, and a digital photo album.

Vegan Fam Fest

When: September 9th and 10th

Where: Ancient Olive Trees Park, Psematismenos

Vegan Fam Fest returns to Ancient Olive Trees Park in Psematismenos, celebrating all things vegan. This two-day event on September 9th and 10th features speeches, seminars, tastings, workshops, and wellbeing classes focused on plant-based living. Additionally, enjoy cooking courses by Lidl Food Academy and live music throughout the festival.

Stand-up Comedy Festival

1st Stand-up Comedy Festival: 3-day festival.

Where: Heroes Square, Limassol, September 22-24.

Stantar Kkomety, in collaboration with Rialto Theatre, presents the first Stand-up Comedy Festival from September 22nd to 24th. This three-day event features comedy shows, musical comedies, performances for all ages, outdoor parties, and discussions. Join prominent and emerging stand-up comedians at Heroes’ Square for a laughter-filled experience.
