Pedal away!

Cycling enthusiasts in Cyprus will undoubtedly pass by historical sites, quiet mountain towns, and breathtaking monasteries because of the island’s 12,000-year human history. Here’s a list of the top 5 spots on the island to go cycling this summer, each with a different difficulty level:

1. Paphos, The sunset point loop from Pissouri

Level: Expert

This expert-level bike trail requires a particularly good level of fitness, and it may also require you to push your bike at certain points. With a distance of 82.3km, this bike ride will take you about 5 hours and 15 minutes to complete. The starting point of the tour is accessible with public transport. Highlights include: Aphrodite’s Rock (Petra tou Romiou), Café “The Meeting Place” in Kouklia, Medieval Baths.

2. Edro III Shipwreck – Kathikas street loop from Geroskipou

Level: Any level

Just as the previous one, this trail requires a very good level of fitness, however it is suitable for all skill levels regarding cycling. This is due to the fact that the trail is made up of mostly paved surfaces. It is slightly shorter than the Sunset Point Loop at 72km, therefore it will take about 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete. Again, the starting point is accessible with public transport. Highlights include: Sea You Café, Edro III Shipwreck, White River Beach view.

3. Paphos, The sunset point – Medieval Baths loop from Kato Paphos

Level: Any Level

This trail has exactly the same features as the Kathikas Street loop from Geroskipou, however it is about 3km longer. Highlights include: the Sunset Point, Café “The Meeting Place” in Kouklia, Medieval Baths.

4. Edro III Shipwreck – Paphos, The sunset point loop from Paphos

Level: Intermediate

This intermediate-level bike ride requires an average level of fitness and has mostly paved surfaces. It is quite a bit shorter than the previous rides, at 56km, making the duration of the ride about 3 hours and 20 minutes. Highlights include: Sea You Café, Sentiero by the Sea, the Sunset Point.

5. Aphrodite loop from Geroskipou

Level: Intermediate

Very similar to the Sunset point loop from Paphos, just 3km longer. Highlights include: Aphrodite’s Rock (Petra tou Romiou), Medieval Baths.
